Raspberries

Pruning the raspberries. This is done after cropping, or on my plot over the winter. Summer raspberries should have the last year's fruiting stems cut out leaving new growth for this year, autumn canes should be cut back to near ground level.

After long neglect the plot is starting to come back together. I've cleared about enough room for this year's first early potatoes; Rocket, a variety new to me. No main crop this time to allow more room for summer vegetables. Tea in the flask, Rolling Stones in the earphones.

 The potatoes are Home Guard, a second world war variety, I think the strawberry plants were from Woolworths.
